2025 Summer BSIS Professional Learning Events

Need to Know

 

Will I receive a stipend for participating?

FDOE is NOT paying stipends to attendees who participate. Please check with your district/school to see if it is providing one.

 

What time do I need to arrive at the event location and where do I go?

The event starts on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. in the school's auditorium at each location. Please arrive by 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday to allow time for parking and check-in.

 

Is there an early check-in on Monday?

Yes, you are encouraged to stop by the school on Monday afternoon before your event starts to pick up your badge from the Auditorium foyer. Monday check-in hours are 3:00-5:00 pm.

 

Do I need to bring ID to check in?

Please bring your district/school ID with you as some locations may require you to wear it while on campus.

 

Where do I park?

There will be signage for the event upon entering the school property.

What is the dress code?

Business casual is appropriate. School spirit shirts are welcome.

 

Is housing provided?

No, the event does NOT provide hotel accomodations. Please see the hotels page for hotels near your event.

 

Will childcare be provided?

This is a professional development opportunity. Childcare services are NOT provided. Please make your own off-site arrangements for childcare.

 

What do I need to bring?

A device with wi-fi capabilities to access event materials via Livebinder.

 

Will there be wi-fi?

Yes, wi-fi will be available at each event location but is to be used specifically for event activities and accessing event materials. Login information will be provided at the event.

 

How do I submit session evaluations?

Please use your scheduler to submit session evaluations. Login information will be provided at the event.

 

How do I receive in-service credit for this event?

All Florida school districts have procedures in place to assist you in earning in-service credits towards the renewal of your FDOE teaching certificate. Please contact your district's staff development director to determine your district's procedure. What if I have to leave early?

Please notify FDOE staff as soon as possible.

 

Will food be available on-site?

Lunch is on your own. Please note, microwaves and refrigerators are NOT available at any site location. You may bring food and beverages into the classrooms, but not into the auditoriums. Water fountains are availble for water bottle refills.
